Wrapping up an electric year: Merry Christmas!

Santa wearing sunglasses and toolbelt

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my Sparky said to me:

Twelve vans a-parking,
Eleven conduits laying,
Ten tools a-turning,
Nine drills a-drilling,
Eight switches switching,
Seven fuses blowing,
Six wires a-winding,
FIVE SAFETY VESTS!
Four LED lights,
Three circuit boards,
Two testing meters,
And a sparky up a ladder!

As we wind down for the holiday season, there’s no better time to reflect on a great year for the French Electrical family. And what a year it’s been! From milestone celebrations to new partnerships, 2024 has given us plenty of reasons to celebrate.

April saw us marking 50 years in business – half a century of lighting up homes and businesses across the region. This Golden Anniversary wasn’t just about celebrating our past – it was about acknowledging the dedication, skill, and hard work that has made French Electrical a well-known and trusted name in the industry for five decades.

One of our biggest highlights this year has been joining forces with BW Henderson Electrical. This partnership has proven to be a perfect match, bringing together two teams with shared values and a commitment to excellence. The combined expertise and resources mean we can serve our extended community better than ever before. Here’s a picture of some of the lads from BW Henderson and French Electrical, who collaborated on a project recently.

Another highlight has been our apprentices who have qualified to become electricians this year. Congratulations to Noah (left) and Alex (right) who are pictured below – if you see them out and about, be sure to say hello.

As a long-standing Auckland electrical company, we’re deeply committed to giving back to the local community that has supported us for over 50 years.

We continue to be proud sponsors of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, which has been providing life-saving services to the greater Auckland area for more than four decades. By supporting this vital organisation, we help ensure that our fellow Auckland residents have access to rapid-response medical care whenever they need it.

Speaking of community, in September, our customers selected East Auckland-based Stand Tū Māia to receive our $1000 charity donation. Their plans to use these funds for sensory resources will make a real difference in children’s lives, helping them develop into confident, independent learners. This is exactly the kind of community impact we love to support, and we’re already looking forward to future opportunities to give back.

On the project front, we’ve had the privilege of being part of three award-winning Master Builders’ Homes of the Year – a testament to our team’s exceptional electrical craftsmanship. These prestigious projects showcase what we do best: delivering outstanding electrical installations that combine innovation with our trademark reliability.

We’ve also been increasingly involved in solar installations and Smart Home systems – a sign of the times to come. Our residential renovations have also been going strong, and we’ve just finished a showpiece home in Remuera.

Christmas is a time for celebration, and this year, we’re doing it in style. The entire French Electrical and BW Henderson teams, along with their plus-ones, headed to the races for our annual Christmas festivities. It’s our way of saying thank you to our incredible team – the people who truly make French Electrical what it is today. Here’s a few pics of the night – a good time was had by all!

Because our people are at the heart of everything we do, they’re not just employees; they’re family. Their commitment and expertise are responsible for every achievement, milestone, and satisfied customers. And let’s not forget our wonderful customers – your trust and loyalty make everything possible.

As we prepare for a well-earned break, we want to thank everyone who’s been part of our journey this year. Our doors will be closed on December 20th until January 6th, giving our team time to recharge and spend quality time with their loved ones. We will have a skeleton staff available for emergencies should they occur.

From our family to yours, we wish you a safe and happy Christmas season. Here’s to an amazing 2024, and we look forward to serving you again in the New Year!

Holiday Hours: Closed: December 24th – January 10th
