For over 50 years, our family-owned and operated company has been a cornerstone of the East Auckland community, providing exceptional electrical services and supporting various causes close to our hearts.
We know that our success is deeply rooted in the loyalty of our clients, whose word-of-mouth endorsements have helped shape French Electrical into what it is today. This is why we want to support our community. Our commitment to giving back is woven into the fabric of our business, reflecting our values and dedication to the community we’ve worked in for so long.
We are actively seeking new ways to support and uplift our community, and we want you to help us choose the next cause to support. Throughout the month of July, when you book a job with French Electrical, you can vote for one of three nominated charities to receive a $1,000 donation.
A history of support
With a strong family connection to Whangamata, French Electrical have supported the valuable community work of Whangamata Surf Life Saving Club, which can only operate because of its surf life-saving volunteers, community donations and sponsorship.
We also support the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust, which operates the bright red Westpac Helicopters you often see flying around the city on rescue missions. As supporters, we know we are making a difference; on average, they need to fundraise $5000 for every life-saving mission.
We’ve also been a staunch supporter of youth sports, recognising the importance of fostering healthy and active lifestyles for children. Over the years, we have sponsored our own children’s sports teams, including hockey and rugby. However, as our children have grown older and gone on to new sporting activities, we are seeking new ways to support other children in our community.

Oke Charity
The Oke Charity’s mission is to get Kiwi kids outdoors and learning. They believe fresh air, sunshine, and a bit of dirt under their nails foster happy, curious minds. They help build awesome outdoor classrooms at minimal cost to schools, and these open-air spaces let kids reconnect with nature, explore their creativity, and learn in a fun, relaxed way. Oke Charity works alongside school communities through their ‘working bees’—think community barbecues with a building project thrown in. These bees are a chance for parents, teachers, and kids to bond, get their hands dirty, and create a space that’ll benefit everyone for years to come.
Howick Santa Parade
The Howick Children’s Charitable Trust works to bring the community together and create positive experiences for local children. They organise an annual Christmas event that has become a neighbourhood tradition and brings laughter, community spirit and festive cheer to everyone. From 11 am, the streets buzz with a mix of entertainment, including markets, lively performers, talented face painters, and sports clubs sharing their passion. This vibrant celebration lets kids experience the season’s magic and explore their community. Your donation supports this community celebration.
Stand Tū Māia
Stand Tū Māia is based in Half Moon Bay and works with children and families who have been through or are experiencing significant harm to their well-being because of their environment and their own complex needs. They work with children aged five to 12 who participate in a residential or day-stay programme, depending on their needs and the different therapeutic modalities planned to meet those needs.
Additionally, they have a team of registered social workers who make up the Intensive Family Wraparound Service. They work with whanau, schools, and other agencies to further support the sense of safety, well-being, and resilience in children and their families. Stand Tū Māia would use these funds to provide sensory resources that would support children’s emotional and behavioural regulation, giving children the opportunity to become successful and independent learners.
By participating in our current initiatives and helping choose new causes to support, you can contribute to this legacy of generosity and community spirit. Together, we can continue to build a brighter future for East Auckland and beyond.
